Your Allies Stand Ready!

Ladies and Gentlemen!
As you know, Heart of the Mists will be adding Allies, a new type of card that will help players in their Quests. You've seen a glimpse of them during the campaign, but you also asked us if we could provide those characters with separate art. Simply put, we decided to comply. So, here’s the new art, together with a set of personal histories of four of the Allies you’ll find in Heart of the Mists.
Tarah
Born far away from Frostvalley Keep, Tarah had always exhibited the character traits that made her a natural Shieldbearer recruit. Headstrong, tough and relentless, she spend most of her teens raising her four younger brothers, orphaned by an outburst of a plague that took the population of half a dozen cities in the south, reaching as far as the borders of Valskyrr.
Tried and true both before joining Shieldbearer ranks and while carrying the Bear Shield, Tarah will be the rock that stands between you and the tide of creatures spawned by the Mists. Unlike a rock, however, she is more than capable to punish those who seek to harm you, and resilient enough to still be at your side as you face great peril at the Heart of the Mists.
Kerdan
A talented young mage, cocky and insolent enough (on at least one occasion) to be punished by his Dathnafar superiors by relocating him “where his unique talents can do most good”. Some also say that his exile had something to do with how he acquired his arcane flame skills, and the fact that the vice-headmistress of the Flamecasters has recently been granted an honorary diplomatic position in one of the independent provinces far, far to the south of Dathnafar.
Far from being known for his resilience in battle, Kerdan can nonetheless stand in for what your party of gruff fighters and mouthy barbarians lacks: a bit of the arcane. Don’t expect Kerdan to go toe to toe with an angry beastman wielding a battle axe, but do expect him to turn the brute to ashes, given the opportunity… to hide behind your shield.
Aidran
Silent, focused, reliable, and perhaps a bit shy, that is how Aidran would be described by anyone who knew him as a child or a very young man. Even as an initiate, he would still earn a similar description, supplemented only with the word “devoted”. Nobody expected him to be welcomed into the prestigious ranks of the Dawnbearers, until an attack on his temple made him unleash his righteous fury, which led to a massive display of divine power, and to many of Aidran’s brothers and sisters witnessing for the first time mindless undead retreating as if fearing for their very lives.
Aidran is very much what you would expect from a warrior priest. He will help you overcome enemies, lend his healing skills when most needed, and put the reanimated dead on their back foot the moment they enter the fray. So, if you feel you need someone to have your back, he is the one you should take with you.
Flavi
“Ratface Flavi” others used to call her, back when she was part of a street gang in Dathnafar. She endured silently, seemingly making nothing of the fact that even among the beggars and drifters she was somehow considered of lower social standing. All that changed, however, when the city watch took down Flavi’s crew. The gang was miraculously released a few days later, after a flash-fire in the watch’s headquarters consumed most of the evidence and paperwork. Most, but not all. In fact, just enough was left to keep one individual behind bars. And as he was the one that liked tormenting Flavi the most, nobody ever called her “Ratface” again.
Although those days are far behind Flavi, she still makes use of the same skills, only this time her “crew” is very, very different. If she stands by your side, you can be certain that her skills will help you overcome a difficulty, or evade it completely. And though she can hold her own in a fight, her wit remains forever much sharper than the keen-edged daggers she wields against your enemies.
So, do you like the new faces of Allies? Tell us what you think and, as always, have a great day!

Pledge manager is open
– Tue, Jun 14, 2016 at 08:35:52 PM
Ladies & Gentlemen,
After the necessary 14-day wait period for funds to be collected and a quick approval process, we are happy to let you know that the pledge manager is open.
Why the rush?
We would like to kindly ask you to fill in your survey as soon as possible for no other reason than helping us plan ahead. While we already have an idea of how many game boxes we need to produce, we also need to know where these game boxes will be shipped. Since we're working on a tight deadline, we need your support to keep things smooth.
What's a pledge manager?
It is an online platform which does several things:
it replaces the classic KS survey and helps us collect your data for shipping, it is more intuitive and user friendly;
it allows items to be added to your pledge if you so choose;
we can open preorders for those who missed the campaign altogether;
and it does all of the above in an orderly manner, so that when we're ready to ship, everything will go as smoothly as possible.
I'm a backer, how do I get to my pledge manager?
That is an excellent question :)
It's really simple - check your email (the same email you used to register on Kickstarter) and you will find a "call to arms" from BackerKit and NSKN Games with a link. Click on that link and then follow the instructions.
If you did not receive such a link, please first check your spam folder and if it's not there, simply write to us at [email protected] and we will help.
Keep in mind that while you can add extras to your pledge, you do not have to. Should you change your mind, you can still edit your pledge later.
Can I edit my pledge and/or my address later?
Yes, absolutely. Just follow the same link and you will gain access to your pledged items and your survey as many times as you need to.
How long will the pledge manager stay open?
We will keep the pledge manager open as long as possible. Once game boxes have been loaded on large boats and shipped to Europe and North America, we will lock pledges and addresses, but this will only happen in a few months. We plan to let you know a few weeks in advance about locking down the pledge manager.
What's up with the preorders?
Well, people who wanted to join in but missed the deadline will now be able to pledge. They will not get the same discounts as our original backers and we won't let the preorders affect the manufacturing timeline at all. More about preorders in our next update.
What else?
Before we forget... the minis are 95% final, all sculpts have been sent to the molds factory for approval. In the mean time, we're working on the final files. Heart of the Mists takes priority and we're almost ready. So far, all deadlines agreed with the manufacturer have been kept, so... we're definitely on track for October delivery.
Have a nice week,
Andrei
First news after the campaign end

Ladies & Gentlemen,
First of all, we would like to thank you once again for being part of this epic campaign and supporting Heart of the Mists. Now the ball is completely in our court and we're already working hard to get everything ready for the October deadline.
Pledge Manager
We plan to open the pledge manager as soon as possible. Before that happens, we need to wait for 14 days from campaign end while Stripe collects pledges and another 2 or 3 business days for BackerKit to approve our page.
As soon as these two steps are completed, we will invite all of you to the pledge manager. More details will come as the opening date is closer.
Production
The first and most important step is to get the miniatures models ready for molding. This is a 2-step process:
Finalizing 3D models - which is almost ready and you can see a few more models below.
Creating sculpts for approval - these sculpts are made via 3d printing and while they do not have the amount of details we expect from the final product, they will be a good depiction of each model, which will allow us to provide final feedback and thus start the molding process.
While minis are process by our manufacturer in China, on our side of the world we will be working hard to finalize cards, punch-boards and rules. Obviously, we will keep you updated every step of the way.
Have a great week,
Andrei
Thank you all!

Ladies and Genlemen!
The Kickstarter campaign for Heart of the Mists has just ended, and wow, has it been a ride! It went as far as Mistfall had over a year ago, and although we were prepared for such a scenario, we did not really think it was possible. Well, you have proven that with fans and backers like you, there is little we cannot do. Thank you. Thank you all so much!
We will now go offline for the weekend, and we hope you can forgive us for answering questions less often, but all of this has been an experience both energizing, and exhausting. Before we go, however, we would like to inform you of a few things.
Firstly, we will keep gathering feedback for any Heart of the Mists elements we have published so far, and publish even more, so at least some of you can have a bit of fun with some brand new Mistfall stuff, before the game actually lands on your shelves.
Secondly, we would like to announce that due to the popularity of the “sketch on parchment” version of the Shadowscape cover, we will preserve it as the cover of the rulebook. This solution was proposed by a few backers, and we believe it is one that will make many of you happy.
Finally, for all of you who did not get to pledge for everything you wanted, we will have a pledge manager open in about 18 days. It will help us collect all data needed for fulfilment, and it will give you the chance to throw in those games and expansions you did not pledge for when the project was up. And yes, even if you pledged $1, you will be able to add pretty much anything we made available during the project.
Once again, thank you all so much for being a part of this incredible experience, and for wanting to step into the Mists with the NSKN Team.
